What is the idea of our graduate program?

As the name of this graduate program may sound a little vague, we want to tell you more about the idea that stands behind it.

We believe that some people may have the desire and capability to develop their skills across multiple fields — you might be uncertain about the career path you wish to pursue, or you may feel that your many talents would be wasted in a narrowly defined role. Maybe you are just a fan of trying new things and taking on various challenges every day. No matter the reason, we see this only as an opportunity at Software Mansion.

We firmly believe that trying different tasks is a great way to get to know the company and business landscape, and, at the same time, identify your greatest strengths. Consequently, our year-long graduate program encompasses involvement in a diverse range of projects and responsibilities. Yes, our graduate program is scheduled to last about a year, during which you will work in four different teams. This gives you about three months to try yourself at each of these exciting areas:

  • Marketing — this entails creating and publishing social media content, supporting internal and external employer branding initiatives, assisting with event coordination, and more.
  • HR — you will support recruitment processes, run feedback sessions for our employees and take care of their well-being.
  • Project management — you will provide support to our project managers by handling administrative tasks, composing emails, preparing reports, etc. You will also have a chance to see how project managers conduct meetings with clients and developers.
  • Back office and administration — this involves managing invoices and payments, procuring equipment and services, and preparing contracts and other documents.

However, it might be that you feel inclined towards a particular set of tasks and aspire to specialize in one field. In such case, if a role is available and we both agree that you’re the right person for the job, it is possible to focus primarily on one path, rather than explore many of them.

A few words about Software Mansion

Software Mansion is a software development and consulting agency. While offering a broad spectrum of services, we have gained special expertise and renown when it comes to React Native and the area of multimedia streaming.

Right now, we are a team of 250 people and still counting. We are steadily growing, probably because we put creating the right working environment for all employees first. We prioritize excellent working conditions, strive for efficiency, and foster opportunities for personal and professional development.

Although developers are obviously the biggest part of Software Mansion, we cannot fail to mention other teams, such as project management, design, administration, HR, or marketing. This graduate program presents a unique opportunity for you to gain valuable experience by observing and collaborating with these teams and understanding their roles and impact on the organization.

Who are we looking for?

The most important is a good set of soft skills:

  • you are able to organize your work effectively on your own,
  • you are proactive and are not afraid to take the initiative when needed,
  • you are outgoing, communicative, and easy to connect with,
  • you are willing to help other people and carry out various types of tasks.

We don’t require many hard skills, however, those two are mandatory:

  • perfect command of written and spoken Polish and English (C1 or better),
  • excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet usage (preferably Google Spreadsheets, but Excel will suffice), writing emails, and using online calendars.

Other traits that make you a very good fit for the role are:

  • basic knowledge of software development process and software agencies functioning,
  • experience in any of the areas that are covered by the program,
  • experience in areas that require people skills, including team management.

You do not need to have prior experience to apply, but every know-how and training is highly appreciated. If you do have some experience but are willing to face some new challenges, our program is a great opportunity for you too.

Everything you should know about the graduate program — straightforward!

General information and terms of cooperation:

  • We are flexible when it comes to the type of agreement.
  • We are open both for students willing to learn how software house works and experienced people looking for new challenges and areas of expertise.
  • Availability to work full-time is preferred but if you are a final year student and need to combine work with university classes for a while, we can reduce the time to 30 hours per week.
  • If your availability is less than 30 hours per week or you are not graduating soon (your availability will be less for a longer period of time), you’d better apply for future editions of our program.
  • We have flexible working hours. You will only have to adjust them to some scheduled meetings.
  • We do not hire remotely — we expect you to work mainly in the office. However, working from home from time to time is not a problem at all.

How much will I earn?

At the beginning of the graduate program, you will be paid monthly 5000 to 7000 PLN gross, depending on your current skills. If your performance is satisfactory, there is potential for a salary increase throughout the duration of the graduate program.

Recruitment process

We expect a lot of people to meet the criteria, but obviously, we can not hire everyone. Only the best talents will have a chance to become a part of our Software Mansion team. Here is how we are going to evaluate candidates:

1. Applying and registering: you will be asked to fill in the application form with some basic data and to share your resume. This part will not take you more than a few minutes.

In the next few days, our team will come back with feedback and details about the next steps of the recruitment process.

2. Completing questionnaires with some questions and tasks: you can expect a few open questions about your skills and why you would like to join our graduate program. Additionally, you will be asked to solve three tasks connected to different work areas. We know it can sound a bit demanding, but completing all of them should not take more than two hours.

We will need up to a week to carefully read the answers. Of course, we will try to get back to you as soon as possible!
If you have any questions about the graduate program or the company at this point, our HR team will be available to answer them during a quick call or via mail.

3. Interviews: during this stage, you will be invited to three or four online meetings during which you will meet people who you will possibly work with. All interviews will be conducted in Polish but you can also expect a short conversation in English. It is also possible that one of the interviews will be conducted in our office, at Zabłocie 43B Street in Kraków. These meetings will be a chance to find out if we are a match and if both sides will enjoy working together.

The exact plan depends on your skills and previous experience, and our recruiter will inform you about all details when inviting you to the interview.

Where to apply?

To apply just click here and fill out the first questionnaire. It won’t take more than 5 minutes, so don’t procrastinate ;) and apply. We are waiting for it!
